Wash Up.

Step Up Volusia is represented by a group of city and county leaders, organizations and influencers within our community who have the well-being of our citizens of this county at heart. Our goal is stopping the spread of COVID-19 in Volusia County.

To achieve this objective we all need to wash up, back up and mask up - three simple guidelines supported by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Florida Department of Health.

Washing your hands is easy - something we should all be doing anyway.

By backing up, we are encouraging people to maintain their social distance - at least six feet - from others who may want their space. But this also will lessen your chance of contracting the virus.

Finally, choosing to mask up is about taking personal responsibility for protecting the welfare of others around us from contracting COVID-19.

Guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shows that wearing a mask protects us from infected individuals who could otherwise spread potentially harmful germs. Other proven research suggests that masks can reduce the risk of contracting COVID-19 or another respiratory illness by up to 30 percent.

It’s time for Volusia County to step up and beat COVID-19. The only way to do that is by collectively working together as community to overcome the virus.

Wash Up. Back Up. Mask Up.

Stay healthy.
